I am a second-year PhD student in Learning Sciences and Technologies at the University of Pennsylvania, and a Wonder Lab Fellow, working with Dr. Bodong Chen.
Currently, I am investigating the intersection of artificial intelligence (AI) and education, with a focus on how AI-generated lesson plans shape teaching and learning. My work examines the biases embedded in AI-generated content and how these affect critical elements of the classroom—such as student agency, teacher-student interactions, and ethical engagement. I am particularly interested in designing AI-supported systems that augment teachers’ professional knowledge and enhance their pedagogical design capacity.
Before beginning my doctoral journey, I worked as a secondary school teacher in Taiwan, where I designed interdisciplinary curricula, served as a homeroom teacher, and developed strong relationships with students and families. I also held leadership roles, including Chief of Examinations and Chief of Guidance and Counseling, where I managed large-scale exam coordination for over 3,000 students and oversaw guidance and counseling programs. These experiences deeply inform my research, grounding my work in the realities of classroom practice and school systems.
